At Reality Recovery our setting is very relaxed yet structured to you make the most out of this opportunity to begin a new life.
Healing the body is just as important as healing the mind at La Paz House. Clients are encouraged to begin physical fitness and yoga sessions as soon as possible. Developing This gives our clients greater energy, clarity of mind and begins their foundation of sober growth.
The style of Yoga offered at La Paz is Inner Force Yoga, a derivative of Kripalu Yoga. This style's moto is "Meditation in Motion" and really focuses on the balance of self and the communion of mind, body, and spirit. This can be the central driving force that keeps one aligned with themselves, in order to maintain a healthy body and state of mind.
Yoga, for people just starting out in recovery, can be a great asset. Not only do their bodies start getting back to being healthy in a physical sense, but it also leads them into the first chance of meditation.( a crucial part of AA, NA, and other 12-step programs ) Which in turn, will lead to a healthy mentality, and can be an "ice-breaker" for the spirituality that beginners in recovery stray away from.
Yoga can instigate a multitude of positive things, such as stimulating the metabolism and lymphatic system, opening facets of the body that have become tense or shut down, and even helping one to grasp the concept of a Higher Power. These wonderful affects can be the very thing someone in recovery needs to gain the energy and confidence for rebuilding their lives.
These yoga classes will bring the mind-body-soul union to understand exactly what one needs in their program to achieve and maintain sobriety.
A positive attitude and a great work out help to start the day with a smile. These are things one can carry with them, through the day and throughout their life, to keep them coming back to the rooms, and maintaining the spirituality of their recovery.
