Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Is The Stay?
We would like to have a 90-day commitment from all clients. However, we realize that this can seem like an eternity to a newly recovering person. Some of our clients have chosen to stay with us for a year while others have stayed just 30-days. The length of the stay is truly determined by the individuals’ commitment to sobriety.
What Do I Bring?
The La Paz House considers its living arrangements similar to that of a Bed & Breakfast. Therefore all you need to bring are clothing for the South Florida climate, personal hygiene items and any other essentials you would bring for a long term stay (personal photo’s, etc.).
In addition, cell phones, personal computers, ipods, books and stereo’s are welcome. If you have questions, feel free to contact us at 561-308-7515.
Will I have A Roommate?
No. All clients at the La Paz house have a private suite with their own television and private bathroom. We maintain the La Paz house at a maximum of five residents to insure you recovery is individually focused within our community setting.
Can I have Visitors?
Visitors are allowed but will be required to submit to a drug screening. This is not only for your safety but for the other residents as well. In addition, visitors are not allowed to spend the night and are asked to leave the residence at ten o’clock Sunday through Thursday and eleven o’clock Friday and Saturday.
Is There A Curfew?
We expect all of our clients to be in the residence by eleven o’clock Sunday through Thursday and by midnight on Friday and Saturday evenings. The house manager must approve any exceptions in advance.
Can I Leave The Residence Overnight?
After the first thirty days or residence, clients may spend an overnight off-premise provided the staff is informed of your plan in detail. This will include people the client will be staying with, appropriate contact information and the client will be expected to check in with the house manager at least twice a day. Depending on the circumstance, other conditions may apply.
