Grassy Waters Preserve
Grassy Waters offers environmental education and recreational opportunities on the edge of a 20-square-mile wetlands wildlife sanctuary. The preserve offers special events and programs for all ages throughout the year and features two nature center pavilions, a meandering boardwalk and hiking trails. Programs include guided canoeing and “swamp tromps.” A part of the Florida Everglades system, Grassy Waters Preserve is the City of West Palm Beach Water Catchment Area.
Lion Country Safari
Take a four-mile drive through the safari with 1,000 animals roaming free within inches of your vehicle, then visit Safari World Amusement Park with animal encounters/demonstrations, rides, games, shopping, food and thrills.
Marinelife Center of Juno Beach
The Marinelife Center of Juno Beach is where visitors can encounter educational displays and exhibits, marine aquariums and live sea turtles. A unique hands-on approach encourages participation. Sea turtle walks are scheduled in June and July.
Okeeheelee Park & Nature Center
Okeeheelee Park comprises 900 acres, including a 27-hole golf course, world-class competitive water ski course, nature center with exhibits and nature trails, ball fields, picnic pavilions, lakes for fishing and kayaking, tennis courts, and much more.
The Sailfish Marina Resort
Sailfish Marina Resort, a vacation paradise, offers a world-famous sport fishing charter fleet; water taxi tours and transfers; bike rentals; waterfront restaurant; ship’s store and gift shop; weekly Thursday evening Sunset Celebration Art Show, “Feed the Fish” Seawall Aquarium; and full-service marina.
Historical Society of Palm Beach County
Located in Palm Beach, the Historical Society is primarily an archive and research facility. It is dedicated toward collecting and preserving all materials, especially primary source materials, pertaining to the history of Florida and in particular Palm Beach County. The society’s collection is diverse, including letters, diaries and journals, periodicals, two million photographs, scrapbooks, postcards, maps and one of Florida’s largest collection of architectural drawings. There is a winter lecture series. Additionally, the society is the beneficiary of the Preview Evening and Lectures for the Connoisseur Fair held in January at the Kravis Center’s Cohen Pavilion.
The Museum at Ragtops
Ragtops Motorcars’ multi-level historic facility will recycle the fun of your favorite era as you are surrounded by over 75 convertible collectible cars and memorabilia. Visit the indoor drive-in theatre and take a stroll down memory lane, complete with main street storefronts and a beach! This unique facility is also available for private and corporate special events with a capacity of up to 1,200. South Florida Science Museum
The South Florida Science Museum features interactive scientific exhibits, Egypt Gallery, laser light shows, planetarium, outdoor science trail, observatory, aquarium and the state’s only science-themed mini-golf. It also has rotating exhibits and special events throughout the year.
Bink Glisson Historical Museum
The Bink Glisson Historical Museum is comprised of historical artifacts of early Florida settlers. The personal collection of the late Bink Glisson, a Palm Beach County pioneer, is showcased in the gallery. The collection illustrates how people lived in days past, and includes a display of Mr. Glisson’s artwork as well as a replicated one-room schoolhouse.
